Holy Cross Church and Pinstripes Bethesda Wedding in Bethesda, Maryland
What a beautiful day this was! Devin and Drew are truly something special – so laid back, so excited to have a beautiful ceremony and an awesome celebration, and surrounded by so many amazing people.
The day all started at the Pike and Rose Canopy Hotel, which was so cute and super chic. Devin’s details were really lovely; super classic and clean! The room I photographed the details in was actually Devin’s parent’s room and Devin’s mom was in there creating the floral arrangements.
As a side note, I went to high school with Devin and a lot of her bridesmaids, too. They were a year or two above me in school but it was really awesome to see some familiar faces! Anyways, the bridesmaids were having a lot of fun getting ready and looked so beautiful in the blue dresses they selected. Devin got in her dress and OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS. She is already a stunning woman, but her dress fit her perfectly and she just looked so lovely. None of her bridesmaids had seen her dress (with the exception of her sister) so she did a bridesmaid reveal and it was perfect.
Once we moved onto the church, the ceremony was a classic Catholic mass ceremony. Something that was really special to me personally about this wedding was that Holy Cross Church is where my parents were married (in 1984!). It was very cool that my wedding world has collided with my personal world in that way! The church has changed a bit since then (as has photography 😉 )
After their ceremony, we zipped through family portraits and bridal party portraits, so we could get back to the Pike and Rose area for cocktail hour, bride and groom portraits, and a little party! It was truly such a fun day! We took bride and groom portraits on the patio of the Canopy, which overlooked the patio of Pinstripes, so we could see that cocktail hour was going well. Then once we wrapped up photos, I set up all my lighting for the reception as Devin and Drew practiced their first dance! They absolutely crushed it!
After their first dance, their reception was filled with sweet words from Devin’s parents, marriage advice and fun stories about Devin from her sister, hilarious stories about Drew from his younger brother, the nicest mother/son dance, and a two part father/daughter dance! Lots of dancing, some shot taking, and some cake eating wrapped up the night!
I’m so excited to share these images with you! This blog post is long overdue!!
