Delaware Beach Photography Session

Hi there!! I wanted to let you all in on a little secret! I decided to open up some time slots for sunrise sessions on the Delaware coast beaches. If you are unaware, I spend many weekends in Delaware during the summer – it’s one of my favorite places! After a lot of people asking about photo shoots at the beach, I thought it’d be a great idea to open up some beach sessions. Sunrise in Delaware is GORGEOUS. The light is soft and beautiful, the sun is just off the water, and there are very few, if any, people […]

Courtney & Jimmy | South Carolina Wedding

I bet you a dollar that over a decade ago, when these two got together in high school, they didn’t know they’d have one of the best weddings ever! With all their family and guests traveling from all over to Myrtle Beach for their South Carolina wedding, it was easy to tell how loved they are. Some of my favorite things from this wedding: The ode to their pups on the coozies for the guests (they love their dogs so much… and like so do I) How excited everyone was for the two of them! When you’ve been together for […]

Waterfront Annapolis Engagement | Courtney & Brian

Hello, hello, hello! I’m very excited to share this Waterfront Annapolis Engagement session with you all! I intended on sharing it last week, but with a destination wedding over the weekend, I was too wrapped up in packing and prepping! So here we are!! Courtney and Brian are high school sweethearts, and although they didn’t go to my high school, I met Courtney many, many years ago thanks to some mutual friends. I can’t even begin to describe how much great energy these two bring – they’re those type of people who make you smile. They’re comforting and jokesters and […]

Old Town Alexandria Engagement Session | Hannah & Evan

Let me just start off by saying I love this Old Town Alexandria engagement session SO much – I think it might have to do with this cute as can be couple! Allow me to introduce Hannah and Evan (otherwise known as Heaven since I accidentally called them that at one point during their shoot). Hannah and Evan are dear friends of mine and that made this shoot extra special. About a year and a half ago, Evan told me he was going to marry Hannah. About a year ago, Evan told me about the ring he was going to […]

Annapolis Engagement Session | Sam & Jack

Something that really fills me with pride is the fact that I get to photograph couples who are incredibly kind and genuine. Sam and Jack are a shining example of that – plus they’re fun, funny, and really easy going (and like super photogenic)! As we excitedly planned this cute downtown Annapolis engagement session, we weren’t sure what mother nature would bring us. After having the weirdest winter to spring transition (snow storm on the second day of spring, anyone?), we were a little concerned that there would still be snow on the ground or frigid cold. Thankfully, on the […]

Glover Park Photo Session | M & M

Last week I was finally able to do a Glover Park photo session AND a snowy photo session all at once. There was even a french bulldog involved! About a week ago, the DC area got it’s first true snowfall of the year; it was the second day of Spring. Weather is weird. Anyways, since I rarely get the opportunity to shoot in snow, I had my pals meet me in Glover Park for a photo session. Glover Park isn’t a place I’d normally select for a photo shoot, but after doing this session, I realized it’s not too bad! […]

Wedding Timeline Planning

ospreys-belmont-bay-wedding-77

Wedding timeline planning is one of the easiest ways to get yourself organized. The timeline is great to have as a little reminder of all the activities in the day! Also, it’s incredibly helpful to your photographer to know when events are starting and where they’re happening! The photographer normally arrives one hour before the bride is ready to go. Or to think about it another way, they’ll arrive 3 hours before the ceremony starts! This can vary on a few factors, like if the couple is doing a first look or not. The bridesmaids will have their hair and make-up done by this point. The groom and groomsmen will […]

Bethesda Engagement Session | Courtney & Jimmy

There’s not much sweeter than photographing high school sweethearts, until you’ve photographed high school sweet hearts who you actually went to high school with! Recently, I captured Courtney and Jimmy’s Bethesda engagement session and it could not have been better. These two were total pro’s at being in front of the camera, their doggies joined in on a few photos, and at the end it got really cold – but they braved the weather and it was great! I can’t wait to capture their upcoming wedding in South Carolina! Check out a preview at their engagement session 🙂 ps. THOSE […]

Top 5 Reception Moments

Sometimes I think I focus too many of my blogs on the ~pretty~ part of wedding days. By this I mean the details, the flowers, the dress, the posed portraits, etc. Today, I want to show some love to the receptions. Reception photos can be tough to capture (photography is all about LIGHT, receptions happen after dark and the lights always get turned down low to set the mood) but they end up being one of the best parts of photo editing. So today, I’m counting down 5 of my favorite reception moments, starting with number 5! 5. When the sweet, […]

Photographs on the Walls

It is the digital age and we’re all guilty of so many things that come with technology being so accessible. One of those things is taking a bajillion photographs on our cell phones, dumping them to the cloud or onto our computers, and rarely going back to look at them. Even as a photographer I am guilty of this… like you should see the amount of images I take of my dogs that I don’t delete because they’re so cute but don’t do anything with. But as a photographer, I believe STRONGLY in doing something with at least SOME of your images. […]
