Back in September of 2015, I went on a solo trip to California and gave my trip the title of Nikki Takes California. I know, I’m seriously slacking on getting some posts and stories up about my trip, but I’m a busy lady. Anyways, be sure to read about my time in 29 Palms and Santa Monica before reading this post!
Part 3 of my trip all takes place in ONE day. It was a long day. But I did so much that I though my time in Northern California would be one posts, but I had to break it into two for my sanity.
After my stay in Santa Monica, I boarded a flight to San Francisco at 4am. Here’s a beautiful photograph of me that I sent to my best friend that shows how lively I am at 4am. I slept a little on the plane, but not all that much because it wasn’t a really long flight.
After getting off the plane, I grabbed my bag and my rental car and headed down the coast towards Big Sur. I did a lot of singing in the car and taking in the sights around me. It was likely the most beautiful drive I’ve ever taken!
Here are some photos from the coast line!Still not the greatest at Go Pro selfie-sticking.
Asked some people to take a photo of me so not all my pictures were via go pro.
Bixby Bridge, it’s in commercials.
Asked a girl to take a photo of me in front of the bridge and this is what I got… so I resorted to go pro pictures.
Never quite grasped the timing of the selfie-stick.
Saw this cool old car coming my way so I pulled out my camera and clicked and realized the woman was waving – nice Californians.
So then on my way back up north, I stopped at a neat little restaurant that was also just kind of a lodge for people staying around Big Sur. It was really cool. I ate a great salad.
Also, while on my way back to San Francisco, I stopped at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I geeked out and took photos of aquatic animals and I think they’re cool so you might too!
I thought this room was way too cool to not take a selfie in.
The Monterey Bay! Look at the seals on the rocks! 🙂
I think that Octopuses are one of the coolest animals in the world and this giant pacific octopus was hiding in the corner for the first few minutes I was near it. It then moved ever so slowly and gracefully and AMAZINGLY across it’s tank and I’m obsessed.
Stay tuned for Nikki Takes California Part 4, which will feature my time in San Francisco, biking across the Golden Gate Bridge, seeing my friend Jide, walking around Lands End and more.
