Why I Offer Complimentary Engagement Sessions

Chesapeake Bay Foundation Engagement

Engagement photo shoots are some of my favorite sessions. They tend to be low-key, in a fun location, and I get to work with awesome people. Part of my wedding package is to offer complimentary engagement sessions to all of the couples who book me for their wedding day! This session is an hour long opportunity with SO much to offer both the couple and me, the photographer. There are SO many reasons why I offer complimentary engagement sessions, and I’d like to share three of them. These sessions give me the chance to get to know my couples! This […]

Whitehall Manor Wedding | Natalie & Jared

It has come time for me to share my final wedding of 2017! This Whitehall Manor wedding took place in November and I could not have asked for a better way to close out my wedding season. Whitehall Manor was the perfect spot for Natalie and Jared to tie the knot. Their wedding had all the moments I love in weddings – laughter, excitement, loads of dancing, the vibe that this couple will conquer any challenge life throws at them, and of course, chick-fil-a. Just a few of my personal highlights from their day: The fact that the first thing Jared said to […]

Bluemont Vineyard Wedding | Lauren & Steven

Well, well, well. It’s 2018 and I’m trying to start the year off strong with blogging. I slacked hard on sharing some of the beautiful love stories I was able to capture in 2017, so it’s time to get the show on the road! This wedding took place in late October and was one of the best days ever! Lauren and Steven are so much fun and their family and friends were awesome. This Bluemont Vineyard wedding went off without a hitch! The ladies started getting ready at the cottage at Bluemont Vineyard while the gents were hanging out at […]

The Ospreys At Belmont Bay Wedding | Jordan & Phillip

What a day this was at The Osprey’s at Belmont Bay! Jordan and Phillip are such an amazing couple and I could not be more honored that I was able to photograph their big day. Jordan and Phillip have one of those “it was fate” stories – they met in an online chat room while she was living in Portland and he was in Virginia. The two formed a cross-country friendship through texting and talking on the phone. Two years later, they finally met in person, and then spent another two years in a cross-country relationship. Once Jordan was done […]

Bretton Woods Wedding | Andrea & Will

A long, long time ago, I was contacted by this beautiful bride who was planning her Bretton Woods wedding! I had met her while out at a bar and shamelessly told her I was a wedding photographer when I heard she was engaged (I really don’t actually do this ever, but I’m so glad I pimped myself out to her)! We were able to do their engagement session where they got engaged (Great Falls) and it was so much fun! That was my first time meeting Will, who is so awesome and kind! But on to the big day!! Here are […]

Inverness Farm Wedding | Sara & Tyler

CUTIES ON THE BLOG ALERT!!! This Inverness Farm wedding was one of the most beautiful days! From the amazing, kind, sweet, adorable couple to the stunning venue, to all the details in between, the day was nothing short of lovely. The first time I spoke to Sara and Tyler was via FaceTime and I awkwardly had to sit on my bed because my phone was dying and luckily they thought nothing of it. When I first officially met them in person last November, we had the most stunning fall engagement session ever. Then, when we finally started diving into details and […]

Maryland Bay Wedding | Kristin & Johnny

Sometimes I think I’m the luckiest photographer in the world. Sometimes I know I’m the luckiest photographer in the world. Kristin and Johnny definitely helped feed into that knowledge. Kristin contacted me a while ago telling me she wanted me to photograph her. And I was like Cool alright that’s awesome. Then they booked their wedding date around when I was available. And I was like Whoa okay that’s really amazing. Then we met for their engagement session and I got to know the two of them a bit. And I was like Wow these two are so phenomenal. Then […]

La Banque de Fleuve Wedding | Claire & Sim

Claire and Sim are married! What a beautiful wedding this was at La Banque de Fleuve in Havre de Grace! There are so many wonderful amazing touches from this wedding that make it one for the books. Here are a few of my favorite observations from the wedding: Claire and Sim are two of the nicest people in the world. They’re seriously so kind! All of their friends and family are lucky to be a part of their world. Claire’s dress gave me LIFE. It’s no secret that I love color… but boy oh boy did I freak out (in […]

Belle Mer Island House | Erin & Mike

At the beginning of September, I was lucky enough to photograph an amazing couple up in Rhode Island at Belle Mer Island House. I told you a little about their backstory and my relationship with them when I posted about their engagement session! Anyways, Mike has known me since I was born, and I met Erin at an ice hockey game shortly after they started dating. They’re truly a great pair – Erin is so mellow and laid back, but also has quite an adventurous spirit, so she can keep up with Mike and all of his activities like surfing […]

The Book on the Coffee Table

Going back to my childhood home is easy. I only moved out a little over a year ago and I only moved 25 minutes away. It’s different though; I look at it and there is this giant yard, so much space, a relaxing pool… it’s suburbia. It’s my home still. Always. In the summertime the frogs croak all night long. My parents like to eat dinner with the door to the back porch open so they can hear them. The house always smells like oranges, although I can never tell if it’s because the house was cleaned that day (since […]
