This Annapolis Waterfront Hotel Wedding was as close to perfect as a wedding can get! It was exactly the right setting for Sarah and Tom’s wedding at the end of June. When they first reached out to me, they told me they were hosting their wedding in Annapolis because they love being on the water and it just felt right to celebrate on the bay. They said that over the four years they had been dating, spending time in Annapolis brought them so much happiness that they couldn’t wait to share with their friends and families!
As they were describing what their wedding vibe would be like they simply said “Drinks will be flowing and the dance floor will be packed. We are a very laid back and casual couple – we just want every one to have a good time and celebrate with us.” – And this is totally how their day panned out!
First, let’s start at the beginning of the day. Sarah, her two best friends, her mom, her aunt, and Tom’s mom were all getting ready and it was so low-key. Tom and his groomsmen and father were all getting ready in a different part of the hotel and were also keeping things pretty mellow! After shooting details and some getting ready shots, it was time to head to the church!
They wanted a Catholic ceremony, so we rode to Millersville to get these two wed! The ceremony was really nice and they had really nice readings presented by a couple special family members. Sarah and Tom were very smiley and I could just tell they were ready to be married!
Once the ceremony was over, we jumped into family portraits. The wedding party, the newlyweds, and I went to the State House to take some portraits! Just as a note, it was 97 degrees in Annapolis this day and the guys were wearing all black suits so I needed to get these photos done in a snap!
After the State House we went and did a few portraits along the water!
Once we got back to the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel, that’s when things started getting SO FUN! They were able to join their cocktail hour for a little bit to spend time with their guests and play a little corn hole! They also both grabbed a Bud Light, as that was their signature drink for the night, which just feels so relatable and easy.
Upon being introduced to the reception, they started their first dance, which was BEAUTIFULLY choreographed to the sounds of Lonestar’s “Amazed.” They did SO GREAT and had the biggest smiles the entire time.
Next was speeches – her step dad and mom gave a wonderful speech. It was straight from the heart and was incredibly touching. Then his best man and her maid of honor both did a fantastic job. There were lots of laughs and a few tears, which might be the perfect formula for a good wedding speech. Each speech ended with “Dilly Dilly!”… the perfect compliment to the fact that their wedding drink was Bud Light.
After dinner the dance floor was POPPING. With around 200 guests, there was so much moving and shaking to all the great tunes.
